The only positive thing I can say, is that 'you never know'. The next few days / week is going to see a lot of new snow up there, and these mountains are so big you can normally find some good snow somewhere regardless of how bad some aspects/elevations are.

Warm Inversion brings Rain

El Nino is doing his job and the famous inversion continued today with fairly nice sun and cloudy breaks in the morning with warm temperatures. After lunch was a different story, towards the end of the day it started raining everywhere from the peak to bottom of Blackcomb mountain.

Overall it was a great day - a little chilly in the shade but with some great sun at the top of the Peak. The groomers were in phenomenal shape: firm but not icy and with virtually no one one them.

Busy Saturday

The snow up top was great, around 30cm or so of powder - though it was slightly wind affected in some areas. It was fantastic skiing until around mid-mountain, here the temperatures were starting to get warm and making the snow 'sticky' and by the bottom it was slushy snow and fun again.

I am in a bit of a rush, so just a run down - it snowed around 10cm overnight, then continued to dump down all day long. Visibility was average, and it was quite windy at times. The snow was great, and it was fun to be playing in the powder again.

We tried the alpine, but the light was flat and the overnight snow hadn't done enough to improve the conditions to make it worthwhile. So we ended up cruising around the mid-mountain - snow was okay, but still lots of hard packed/ icy patches.
